I never used my reservation quota in education despite being from a poor family but I think those who need it should get it. However I am not really happy with the way these reservation benefits are taken for granted by many of the students who get admission through it. :(

i absolutely agree with whatever you said...it reminded me of a poem that we had in school. i dont remember the name of the poem or the poet. there the poet asks the parents to remove the idiot box, and in its place install a bookshelf with interesting books.
the impressions that books create on our mind can never be created by anything else. the best thing is that we can go back to them whenever we want. ofcourse these days tata sky and all have recording facilities which makes this 'going back and forth' possible....but at the end of the day books are books..

3 idiots plays ironical game with the viewers. On one hand Ranchho is used to 'question' the unquestionalbe... and on the other, it challenges viewers to question Ranchho. But most of the viewers accepted Ranchho as the centre, and thus unquestionable - whereas the centre (if there was any) was in Virus.

Thank you for taking me for a ride to our days together at the school, good good good days. It was a beautiful read, bringing back all the memories of the school, and our resptected teachers and loved friends (and adored girls, dare I say?).
I, very sincerely, attribute my cartoon drawing skills to you and still remember the ease with which you drew caricature of Gandhiji. Which I have copied in my drawing pages several times, but never plagiarized. Sometimes when I sit down with my wife and kids and show them one of those copied caricatures, I unfailingly mention your name. And also, that you were the only person whom I have ever met who had decided to pursue B.A. and further, but wanted to complete his 12th grade in science stream.
Thanks again from bringing back the memories, and loved to see you school photo too.

I do not understand why people who disown their right to reservation as per constitution of the country are considered 'good' people... and by that way it is implied that those who take benefits are 'bad' people! Why do we 'construct' such virtues and vices which pushes people towards margins/peripheries instead of bringing them towards center? Aren't these 'new' definitions of virtue and vice going to create yet another chasm in our social structure? Smtimes I feel that it is this 'elitist - attitude' and 'new definitions' that makes the 'Other' more aggressive and violent.

The height of the paradox is that while the comparatist is lauded for interpreting the virtuosity of a foreign text, though he might not worry about making that text available to his native readership, the translator is brought to book on the suspicion of disfiguring the sacred text, though he approaches the original with unparalleled vengeance and commitment. Conservatives in the field of comparative literary studies, who have been inimical to the participation of translation studies in the formation of extensive framework for their discipline, “are precisely those who are in practice devoted to the idea of comparative literature limited to (Western) Europe and its historical dependencies, no matter what their theoretical pronouncements may be.” (Lefevere, ibid.)

Thanks for your views. I disagree with you entirely regarding landmark forum or communication, simply because you dont seem to get what it is all about and I don't blame you for it. These things differ radically from the conceptual-theoretical 'knowledge' that we are brought up on. Landmark Education is basically training, like training to swim or play cricket. It provides us coaching and training to get results in any area of our life. It makes us aware of what is really preventing us from getting results- and this is different from what we think is preventing us from getting them. It shows how to get rid of these constraints. I am sure you must be dealing with many areas where you are not getting results that you want and I suggest that leaving all preconceived notions and assumptions like it is a cult or money making racket aside and give it a shot yourself and find out. After all, all these years you might be struggling with the issues and they must be causing lot of distress to you and people in your life, so why not try it? If it doesn't work, you are always free to go back to your usual way of dealing with things. From my experience, it is one of the most powerful way of getting results in life. Give me a more powerful way, I am alway game for it.

and in the spirit of 'Blink', this blog came to me when i needed to read it most.

Communication collapses daily. The self is almost always in the grip of its memories and those most definitely influence our future thoughts and actions.

Language is but an extension of our selves, if our self is what we think, then language can easily become a despot.If we let it.

One thing I want to reiterate from this post is that without jumping into the water you want be able to learn how to swim , its the same for any language may it be English or any, unless one don't jump into the language and unless there is necessity of the usage of the language one can't learn English.
Once you fall into a situation where no one understand your language , its becomes die hard situation for you to learn their language and that will make you master of the language and not the classes or the books can make you master.
It starts with listening as mentioned here,if you listen what other speaks and see their gestures, face , pauses and hand movements will make you undersdtand that what they are trying to tell you and that way you goes on to learn and use same words , lines and phrases.

So Sachin this one is good post for leaners.
